Lauren and Adam

From Lauren:

From early on, we had our hearts set on having a New Year’s Eve wedding celebration as we thought getting married would be a great way to ring in the new year. The most important thing for us was to ensure that our guests were going to have a great night celebrating with us.
I can’t take credit for the styling - we didn’t even have any ideas. We bought Cathrin D’Entremont, our wedding planner & stylist on board before we even had a date & venue picked out, so from the very beginning she put together the colours/ styles & themes that suited a relaxed but still elegant event which is what we wanted. We got married in a small park that overlooks the beautiful Swan River in Perth. It was a magical location.

The ceremony itself was short and sweet. We wrote the ceremony wording ourselves so that we could make it as personalised and suited to us as possible, as well as writing our own vows that we read to each other for the first time on the day. Adam’s vows to Lauren included to “love you even though you laugh like a hyena, to always cherish you, even when you spend a month’s salary on yet another handbag, and to always look after you when you’ve had one too many champagnes’.
Our reception was held at the incredible ‘Lamont’s at Bishops House’, which is a gorgeous old building & gardens, located amongst skyscrapers in the heart of the Perth CBD. The pre-dinner drinks were held on the back lawn under festoon lights, followed by the sit down meal & dancing on the back patio inside an open air marquee.
We were originally having our reception at a restaurant on the water but had to change 8 weeks before the day due to unforeseen circumstances. Our wedding planner performed a miracle by putting the whole reception together in 8 weeks.

Cathrin worked together with Rebecca Grace from Natural Art Flowers to come up with a design for the amazing florals – they were to be bright and modern with bold colours in our wedding theme (red, pink). The bouquets had long ribbons hanging from them in our colours. We got SO many compliments on the flowers. The centrepiece was the floral arch at the entrance to the reception marquee!
A special thanks to the incredible Cathrin D’Entremont who organised, planned, styled and executed the day for us. She was a pleasure to work with and without doubt was the best thing we did when it came to our day. She styled our event to perfection - we had so many people comment on how beautiful all the elements were, and she put us in touch with a “dream team” of suppliers, each one being nothing short of incredible.
